Touch down in Rio, check in, and settle into your accommodation for the week ahead. There’s something special about arriving in this city for the first time, especially knowing that tomorrow your training experience begins.
This evening, join the group for a welcome dinner and drinks, a chance to get to know your everyone, share your training backgrounds, and get excited for the week ahead. Food and drinks are at your own expense, but we'd definitely recommend trying a caipirinha while you're here.
-
The week begins with your first training session. Whether your background is BJJ, MMA, Muay Thai, or a combination of disciplines, this is your opportunity to train, learn, and challenge yourself in one of the world's most iconic combat sports destinations.
After training, spend the afternoon enjoying the laid-back atmosphere of Ipanema Beach. You can try a surf lesson, hire an e-scooter to explore Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, or simply relax and recover after your session.
As the day winds down, head to Arpoador to watch the sunset. Every evening, locals and visitors gather here to applaud as the sun disappears into the ocean. It's a simple but unforgettable Rio tradition.
For dinner, we recommend visiting one of the local botecos, traditional Brazilian bars serving cold drinks and authentic local dishes.
-
Today includes both morning and evening training sessions, giving you even more time to develop your skills and immerse yourself in the experience.
Between sessions, discover another side of Rio. Visit the colourful Selarón Steps before exploring the city's historic centre. Wander through the old harbour district, admire the impressive Candelária Church, and visit the Museum of Tomorrow. It's a side of Rio that many visitors never get to experience.
-
Start the day with another training session, building on everything you've worked on so far this week.
The afternoon is yours to explore. Take the cable car to Sugarloaf Mountain and enjoy panoramic views of Rio's beaches, mountains, and coastline. It's one of the city's most iconic experiences and a well-earned reward after a morning on the mats.
-
Another day of morning and evening training sessions gives you the chance to continue refining your techniques, learning from different disciplines, and making the most of this unique experience.
Between sessions, head to Copacabana. Walk along the famous black and white promenade, unwind on the beach, and enjoy some of Rio's fantastic local cuisine. One of the world's most famous beaches, Copacabana more than lives up to its reputation.
-
Complete your final training session and celebrate everything you've accomplished throughout the week. From new techniques and fresh perspectives to shared experiences with fellow travellers, this journey is about much more than time spent training.
Afterwards, visit one of Rio's most famous landmarks. Take the train through Tijuca Forest to Christ the Redeemer, where breathtaking views stretch across the city below.
In the evening, head to Lapa, Rio's vibrant nightlife district. With live samba, bustling bars, delicious street food, and an electric atmosphere, it's the perfect way to celebrate your final night in Rio.
-
No alarms and no training, just one final chance to enjoy the city at your own pace before heading home.
If your flight is later in the day, consider spending the morning at Rio's Botanical Garden, where towering palms, tropical landscapes, and peaceful surroundings offer a welcome change of pace after an active week of training.
Another great option is Parque Lage, a beautiful historic park nestled at the foot of Corcovado Mountain. Wander through its gardens and forest trails, admire the elegant mansion at its centre, or enjoy a coffee in one of Rio's most picturesque settings.
Whichever you choose, it's the perfect way to unwind and reflect on an unforgettable week of training and discovering Rio.
