Touch down in Rio, check in, and settle into your accommodation for the week ahead. Spend your first hours soaking up the atmosphere of the city, perhaps with a walk along the beachfront or a fresh coconut water overlooking the ocean.
This evening, join the group for a welcome dinner and drinks, a chance to meet fellow travellers, share stories, and get excited for the adventures ahead. Food and drinks are at your own expense, but we'd definitely recommend trying a caipirinha while you're here.
-
Spend the day enjoying the relaxed energy of Ipanema, one of Rio's most iconic neighbourhoods. Unwind on the beach, browse local boutiques, or settle into a café and watch the city go by.
If you're looking for something more active, try a surf lesson or hire an e-scooter to explore the scenic paths around Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon.
As the day winds down, head to Arpoador to experience Rio's famous sunset tradition as locals gather to applaud the sun disappearing into the ocean. It's one of those simple but unforgettable moments that captures the spirit of the city.
For dinner, we recommend visiting one of Ipanema's traditional botecos, where you can enjoy authentic Brazilian flavours in a relaxed atmosphere.
-
Discover Rio's cultural heart with a day exploring some of its most fascinating neighbourhoods and landmarks.
Visit the colourful Selarón Steps before wandering through the charming streets of Santa Teresa, known for its artistic atmosphere, colonial architecture, and local cafés.
Continue into Rio's historic centre to explore the old harbour district, admire the impressive Candelária Church, and visit the Museum of Tomorrow. It's a side of Rio that many visitors never get to experience.
-
Spend the day discovering Urca, one of Rio's most picturesque neighbourhoods. Relax at Praia Vermelha (Red Beach), enjoy lunch overlooking Guanabara Bay, or simply soak up the peaceful atmosphere that makes this area so special.
Later in the afternoon, take the famous cable car to Sugarloaf Mountain. With panoramic views of Rio's beaches, mountains, and coastline, it's one of the city's most iconic experiences and the perfect place to reconnect with the group.
-
Embrace Rio's beach culture with a day in Copacabana. Walk along the famous black and white promenade, unwind on the golden sands, or simply enjoy the vibrant atmosphere that has made this beach famous around the world.
Take time to discover Rio's fantastic food scene, whether that means a leisurely lunch overlooking the ocean or finding a local favourite away from the crowds.
-
No visit to Rio would be complete without experiencing Christ the Redeemer. Travel through Tijuca Forest to one of the world's most recognisable landmarks and enjoy breathtaking views across the city below.
As evening falls, head to Lapa, Rio's vibrant nightlife district. Expect live samba, bustling bars, delicious street food, and an infectious energy that captures the spirit of Rio after dark. It's the perfect way to celebrate your final evening in the city.

Enjoy one final morning at your own pace before heading home.
If time allows, visit Rio's Botanical Garden, home to towering imperial palms, tropical landscapes, and incredible biodiversity. You can also combine your visit with nearby Parque Lage, a beautiful historic park nestled beneath Corcovado Mountain, famous for its elegant mansion, lush gardens, and one of the city's most picturesque cafés.
